Welcome to GOLD SOUL!

 

My name is Samantha and I am your Health Coach! I grew up in a small town outside of Boston and have always been interested in health. My current obsessions are: fresh fruit, clean beauty, tea, hot yoga, and spin class. I have always been super family oriented and adored my close friends. I strive to lead a balanced and intuitive lifestyle, while sticking to nourishing whole foods and healthy habits.

Growing up, my mom always made healthy meals for my family and I. When my brother's and I wanted a snack, she said "have a piece of fruit." She taught me most of my habits, and started bringing me to kickboxing class when I was 13. I am so thankful to have grown up in a healthy environment. I played sports since I was in kindergarten, played 3 sports in high school, and was obsessed with fitness classes in college. Wellness has always been a part of me. I was never perfect, we all have our unhealthy habits. So, I wanted to find a way to shift my mindset and create healthier habits. These new healthy habits just naturally crowd out the unhealthy habits!

I have been interested in food and nutrition for as long as I can remember. In high school, I tracked my calories on my fitness pal, tried all the fad diets, and thought detox teas would make me skinny. In college, I thought having a protein bar for breakfast, a smoothie for lunch, and a piece of chicken and veggies for dinner was healthy. My idea of "health" was so warped due to our society and social media. I was so restrictive, so I would go through phases where I would binge on super unhealthy foods because my body was so deprived. I never listened to what my body wanted. I realized how detrimental these fad diets can be for your body. In the past couple years, I have struggled with digestion issues - my doctor told me I have IBS and to just cut out dairy. Well, yes, cutting out dairy helps, but that's not the answer. It's about balancing your life in all aspects, not only your diet. 

Over the years, I have realized that diets just don't work. & that not every body is the same. You need to fuel your body with whole foods. So, I started researching holistic health and intuitive eating. I finally I eat what I want, when I want, and I find healthy alternatives for the not-so-healthy foods!

I am an IIN Health Coach and could not be more thrilled. I am eager to spread my passion for health and wellness, and to educate people on the importance of treating your body like a temple. No more restricting yourself and dieting. The key to a healthy lifestyle is intuition and balance!

INTEGRATIVE NUTRITION PLATE

The Integrative Nutrition Plate emphasizes the importance of local and organic produce, whole grains, high-quality proteins, plant-based fats, and water. It shows you how a plate should appear at mealtime and emphasizes the importance of proportions and portion size. To complete the picture, the plate is surrounded with lifestyle factors that create optimal health: relationship, career, physical activity and spirituality. I’ll introduce you to some of the healthiest foods on the planet and teach you how to find what’s healthiest for your unique body!

MY TRAINING

I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories – Ayurveda, gluten-free, Paleo, raw, vegan, macrobiotics, and everything in between.

My education has equipped me with extensive, cutting-edge knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and prevention. Drawing on my expertise, I work with my clients to help make lifestyle changes and choose health-promoting ways that produce real and lasting results. You will develop a deeper understanding of food and lifestyle choices that work best for you, improving your energy, balance, health, and happiness.

Each session will leave you feeling inspired and motivated. We will talk about things beyond food, seeking to bring balance to important elements of your life such as love and relationships as well as career and money. I will personally and carefully guide you to make simple, small changes that transform your life.
